Begin Again: The Beautiful Art of Becoming a Beginner
đą
From Auntie Glammahâs Enchanted Journal
Darlings,
Let me tell you a secret: there is no expiration date on your curiosity.
Whether youâre 26 or 86, your soul is forever ripe for wonder, and your hands are never too old to hold something new. If youâre feeling the whisper of something callingâsomething youâve always wanted to try but never daredâI invite you, lovingly, to follow it.
Take the dance class.
Pick up the clay.
Try that wildly colorful new recipe.
Learn how to swim.
Study the stars.
Plant something and call it art.
You donât need permission. You only need your spark.
Weâre all beginners at something, no matter how much weâve mastered. And my goodness, isnât that deliciously human?I recently found myself learning a new way to blend pigments in my studioânot because I had to, but because I wantedto. It lit a fire in my belly and reminded me: learning is living.
And hereâs the thingâwhen you let yourself be bad at something new, when you let go of the fear of not being âgoodâ and just allow yourself to play, youâre doing the bravest thing an artist (or a soul) can do. Youâre choosing expansion over perfection. â¨
đ¨ You might splatter paint everywhere.
đ˛ You might burn the soup.
đđž You might trip during the first few salsa steps.
But oh, sweet starshine, youâll be alive in a way you havenât felt in ages.
Creativity is not just in the end resultâit lives in the trying, the experimenting, the âletâs see what happens.â Even a single brushstroke, a scribbled journal entry, or a curious Google search toward a new craft is a spark added to your creative flame.
So I ask you, precious one:
What have you always wanted to learn?
Whatâs tugging gently at your sleeve right now?
What if you let yourself explore it⌠this week?
You deserve that adventure.
With joy, glitter, and a beginnerâs heart,
â Auntie Glammah
đ âTo begin is to believe in your own unfolding magic.â
